The children's author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The author

Prolific young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm said: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an review of reports of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles in total, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
