British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
