American-Palestinian Teenager Liberated Following Nine-Month Period in Israeli Detention

An American-Palestinian teenager after completing nine months in Israeli detention without being charged has been freed.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 during his detention in February throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing against settlement residents, claims he consistently denied.

American diplomatic officials said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.

Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, relatives told the media.

Family described him as showing signs of malnutrition, and is suffering from conditions developed during imprisonment.

Via family representatives, the youth's uncle conveyed their "overwhelming sense of relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Right now, our priority is providing Mohammed with the immediate medical attention he requires after experiencing harsh conditions and brutal treatment for months."

US officials announced ongoing to extend consular services to the teenager's relatives.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers endorsed a document to the state department and the White House, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.

Mr Ibrahim, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business from Florida, had earlier stated Mohammed acknowledged allegations to throwing stones due to physical abuse.

He had not seen nor direct contact following the detention, and only heard what had happened to him via legal paperwork.

He stayed absent formal charges within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.
