Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was compelled to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the plane's windshield, per an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet landed based on established safety measures and all passengers, including Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer stated in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This incident does not mark the first occasion that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has suffered equipment failures.
Earlier this year, a American military jet ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to turn back to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
